Making life easier for Social Housing Residents

MAKING LIFE EASIER FOR SOCIAL HOUSING RESIDENTS

With over three quarters of a million people aged 65 and over needing specially adapted accommodation due to a medical condition or disability, 145,000 of them report living in homes that do not meet their needs. The Lyndhurst Eco is Be Moderns contribution towards increasing the quality of social living; with the overall aim to meet the Decent Homes Standard and ensure residents’ surroundings better suit their requirements.UK fire and fireplace manufacturer, Be Modern has announced the launch of a new electric fireplace suite introduced specifically for the Social Housing Sector, with residents concerns at the heart of the design process.

The Lyndhurst Eco is modern in design yet practical in operation, with control switches conveniently mounted on the side of the surround. This provides an ideal solution to situations where standard controls may prove difficult to reach or operate.

Roy Whitnall, Director of Trade Sales commented, “A common problem established from customer feedback is the location of fire controls, whether due to the ageing population or a physical disability. Our aim of these mantel side switches is to offer a positive solution without being aesthetically invasive.”

Feedback from customers so far has been encouragingly positive and we hope the Lyndhurst Eco will make life that little bit easier for residents.”

The Lyndhurst Eco is available in a choice of two finishes; Natural Oak or Warm Oak with Marfil Cream back panel and hearth. It comes complete with a new electric LED fire complete with Chrome trim, featuring a stylish glass front fascia. This provides a superb safety element with the added benefit of easy maintenance.

Available to Social Housing organisations nationwide, Be Modern invites all social landlords and installers to contact the Be Modern marketing department and arrange a product demonstration or viewing at a local merchant. We will also be attending the CIH exhibition next month in Manchester where the Lyndhurst Eco will be on display.
